Ground-breaking ceremony for new building at ProCase in Miltenberg

ProCase is a manufacturer of transport cases for devices and equipment. It packs equipment for event technology, IT, medical technology and industrial measurement technology. ProCase's durable transport packaging is becoming increasingly important, particularly with regard to sustainability.

ProCase was founded in 1987 and currently employs 58 people at its headquarters in Miltenberg, including 6 trainees. The symbolic ground-breaking ceremony on 29 October 2024 marks the start of construction of the new company headquarters in Miltenberg.

‘It's finally happening!’ says Thomas Schweighart, founder and managing director of ProCase.

The plan is to relocate the entire operation to the new production, warehouse and office building. The new ProCase building complex comprises 5000 square metres of production space and 1200 square metres of office and social space. This milestone will enable us to secure our competitiveness for the future and realise our growth potential - with super energy efficiency and increased productivity.

We had already planned the expansion options in 2019 and secured the approximately 11 thousand square metre site in the Furchäcker II industrial estate. The extremely positive development of recent years makes it necessary to realise the spatial requirements with a view to the future. The investment volume totals 7.7 million euros and represents the largest single investment in the company's history. The investment is subsidised by the Free State of Bavaria and for us this means a clear commitment to the Miltenberg location.

‘This is only possible with a great team’

Our most important success factor is our team with our family-orientated corporate culture. We have many young employees and ambitious goals. An attractive working environment today requires state-of-the-art basic conditions. We all spend most of our time at work, so we want to turn the current cramped situation back into a pleasant, spacious atmosphere. We will also set up a spacious event room, the ProCasino, which we can use for events with our team and for customer events. An outdoor seating area for breaks in the summer. All members of our team should feel comfortable. I believe this is an important prerequisite if we are to remain an attractive employer in the future and an attractive training organisation for the next generation.

With regard to the construction method, it can be said that equal importance is attached to energy-efficient and economical construction. In terms of the overall energy efficiency of the building, we are significantly better than the comparative values for new buildings that cannot be exceeded under the GEG (Building Energy Act). CO2 emissions are around 50% better and the building insulation value is around 35% better. Heating is hybrid, more than 85% of which is provided by a heat pump using renewable energy, as well as a highly efficient condensing boiler that can also utilise hydrogen mixtures of the future. A photovoltaic system will also generate electricity for the building's own consumption. The office building will be constructed in timber. Building with wood as a renewable raw material with a very good CO2 balance is climate-neutral and ensures a pleasant indoor climate in the offices.

The move and start of production in the new building is planned for the fourth quarter of 2025.
